We know Big White is the best – how could we not? An average of 750cm of dry, fluffy Okanagan Champagne Powder in the Winter and fields upon fields of alpine wildflowers in the Summer? Sounds pretty epic to us... and, guess what, the rest of Kelowna seems to think we’re the best, too!
Big White would like to congratulate Kelowna-based coffee roaster, Tug 6, on taking home two gold awards at the Hopwired Festival that took place in Vancouver in late February. Tug 6 won "Best Espresso" for its Beach Cruiser Espresso, and “Best Coffee” for its Ethiopian blend.
Over 400 skiers, snowboarders and snow-seekers from across the world will be descending on Big White in early March for the mountain’s largest amateur race event in history. From March 1 to 6, Big White is playing host to the International Airline Ski Federation’s 61st Annual World Airline Ski Championships.
It's well known that Big White Ski Resort is an award-winning destination, recently nabbing the 2019 Pursuit Adventure & Attraction Award with the Tourism Industry Association of Canada – and now, the resort is being recognized for its commitment to ensuring everyone has the chance to fall in love with snowsports.
Year after year, the epic snow conditions, ski-in, ski-out convenience and the Village lifestyle attract potential employees to Big White – and now, there’s another draw: brand-new, fully furnished staff accommodation in Black Forest.
Big White Ski Resort is truly a magical place – made even more magical by the people who ski, snowboard, stay and play throughout the year. In this blog, we'll share the stories of people who have fallen in love with one another, who have been proposed to and who have said "I Do" at the resort.
“From my experience, I don’t jump in a lesson without looking at the person," says Big White ski instructor Ken Sinclair. "I let them get a little bit warmed up on their skis so I can actually get a real look at what they're doing."
Big White Ski Resort is known in North America for its easy ski-in, ski-out access to restaurants, bars, accommodations, and pretty well everything else on the resort – in Canada, it’s the Largest Totally Ski-In, Ski-Out Resort Village! – and now, it’s known worldwide.
