Adaptive Private Lessons

At Big White Ski Resort, we believe everyone can enjoy the beauty of our surroundings and the exhilaration of winter sports.

Big White Ski and Board School is proud to offer adaptive private lessons for our guests led by instructors who are qualified to teach children and adults with cognitive challenges. Our adaptive lessons are tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant, with personalized instruction and an inclusive environment.

Need Specialized Support?
For guests who require adaptive equipment (such as sit-skis or bi-skis), we partner with Powder Hounds Adaptive Snowsports, operated by People in Motion. Powder Hounds Adaptive Program is a People in Motion specialized program designed to assist anyone at any age with physical, cognitive, or sensory challenges on the slop at Big White Ski Resort.  the program runs 7 days a week during Big White's Ski Season and is led by volunteer Adaptive Ski Instructors.

Prices shown are in CAD, do not include tax and are subject to change without notice. Lift ticket & Rentals not included see Tickets for lift ticket rates. Students with proof of BCAS membership receive 50% off lift tickets at the ticket window in resort.

Details:

  • Pre-booking is required at least 48hrs in advance to assess student needs and ensure instructor availability.
  • Equipment not included
  • Helmets are mandatory for anyone 18 and under participating in a lesson and recommended for all adults.
  • Please note for students with more complex cognitive challenges, or for guests with physical challenges, we partner with Powderhounds Adaptive Snowsports operated by People in Motion.

LESSON ABILITY LEVELS

A pre lesson assessment will be carried out by our snow pros to ensure you are in the group which best suits your ambitions and abilities. All lessons are grouped based on ability level and age.

BEGINNER - Learn the basics of stopping, changing direction and feeling in control on a gentle slope.
NOVICE - Develop your comfort and confidence with linking turns on our longer beginner trails.
INTERMEDIATE - Improve control and comfort on a variety of moderate terrain.
ADVANCED - Master your control and flow on more challenging terrain across the whole mountain.
