Bringing your kids to Big White? Here’s how to make it easier
Here are some tips to make your holiday smooth, fun and meltdown-free.
Arrive early to skip the lines
Start your day stress-free — we’ll take care of the logistics. With our Kids’ Centre Ski /Ride Valet Service, instructors will pick up your child from your hotel or condo and return them after lessons for a small fee.
The Kids’ Centre opens at 8:30 a.m., with lessons kicking off at 9:45 a.m. Make the morning a breeze by considering picking up rentals the day before or arriving early — the rental shop opens at 8:00 a.m.
Drop-off times are available at 8:30 a.m. for morning sessions and 12:30 p.m. for afternoon lessons, with supervised activities to keep kids engaged.
Pre-register to save time
Book online through the Big White Estore and save 10%. Your child’s barcode labels will be included in your confirmation, making drop-off fast and simple. We scan the code, hand out a vest or armband, attach a skiKrumb GPS tracker, and they’re ready to go.
Lessons for every kind of beginner At our brand-new Kids’ Centre, skiing and snowboarding are fun, safe, and easy to learn. Our programs are designed to meet kids where they’re at — from toddlers to tweens.
- Tot Town Daycare (18 months to 5 years): Located right in the heart of the village, this licensed childcare facility offers a full day of fun, featuring crafts, games, and indoor and outdoor play. Want to introduce your toddler to skiing? Our Daycare Plus packages combine time at daycare with gentle, beginner-friendly ski lessons designed just for little legs. It’s the perfect mix of playtime and powder time — for them and for you.
- Teach Your Tot: This two-hour private lesson is designed for kids aged three and four, introducing them to the basics of skiing with an intermediate level parent by their side. It’s a great way to share the mountain — and the memories — together.
- Group Lessons (ages 4–5): With small class sizes and instructors who specialize in early childhood instruction, your child will get the attention and encouragement they need to build confidence on the snow. Lessons are taught through play in a safe, kid-friendly beginner area, and both half-day and full-day options include snack breaks and downtime to keep energy levels just right. It’s all about learning at their own pace — and loving every minute of it.
- Kids Programs (ages 6–12): Lessons are grouped by ability, so your child will learn alongside new friends at the same level — whether they’re total beginners or ready to tackle tougher terrain. With a focus on fun and progress, our experienced instructors help each kid grow at their own pace. Choose from single-day, multi-day, or season-long options to fit your family’s schedule and your child’s goals.
- Private Lessons: These personalized sessions are tailored to your child’s pace, style and confidence level. Want to share the fun? Most lessons can include a sibling or friend, so they can learn and laugh together on the slopes.
