6 New Things to Expect at the Big White Beer & Wine Store this Season

Posted On: December 12, 2019 |
Whether you’re looking to enjoy an Okanagan red by the fire, sip on a craft beer in your hot tub, or mix up a cocktail with locally distilled spirits for your friends, the Big White Beer & Wine Store is a one-stop shop for all your alcohol needs. Located in the lower level of the Village Centre Mall, the Beer & Wine Store boasts an impressive selection of Okanagan-made wines, brews and spirits – not to mention favourites from beyond BC.

“I love the local angle. I think people come here for a beautiful local experience, and I think that you cap that experience off with a local beverage, whether you’re a beer or wine lover,” says manager Jazz Kahgee.

This season, the store is offering up a new roster of products, events and features for guests to savour. Here are six:

1. Tastings & Weekly Features
Every weekend and every day during holiday periods, the experts at the Beer & Wine Store will be choosing a local wine, beer or spirit for guests to sample. This is an opportunity for question-free purchasing, to try new, interesting, and local bevvies, and, for select featured products, to meet the people who make them!

2. 20 Under $20
You don’t need to spend your life savings on a bottle of wine to enjoy the flavours of the Okanagan! The Big White Beer & Wine Store has curated a list of 20 bottles of red, white and sparkling wine under $20 that will not disappoint – and won’t break the bank! See the list, here

3. Bubble Bin
Whether or not you have something to celebrate, we think every evening at Big White Ski Resort is worthy of a glass of bubbly – and that’s why we have an entire section of the store dedicated to featuring the best bubbles available in the Okanagan and abroad.

4. Hidden Hearth
Try Big White’s very own wine label, Hidden Hearth, at The Woods or the Kettle Valley Steakhouse, then pick it up for a nightcap at the Beer & Wine Store. A meritage blend, Hidden Hearth evokes bright red cherry and spice on the nose, with a full mid-palate presenting notes of cherry, raspberry and violets, and fine-grained tannins that persist through a long, soft, smooth finish. 5. Christmas-To-Go Wine Pairing
Turkey time won’t be complete without the right vino! If you’ve secured a Christmas Dinner To Go package, don’t forget to purchase a curated package of wine, chilled and ready for you to pick up in store. Plus, you’ll save 10% on your wine, whether you’re looking for red, white or sparkling. If none of the options work for you, you can chat with the store manager for a package that suits your taste. Learn more, here
