Big Smiles, Big Prizes, Big Impact: 10th Annual TELUS Kelowna Cup Raises $20,681 for Powderhounds

Posted On: February 23, 2026 |
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the 10th annual TELUS Kelowna Cup on February 21.

Thanks to your support, participation, and generous spirit, we raised an incredible $20,681 for Powderhounds Adaptive Snowsports.

From start to finish, it was one of those classic Big White days. Big smiles. Bright costumes. Families racing together. Friends cheering from the sidelines. The energy in TELUS Park carried all the way through to the awards at Happy Valley.

A Race for Everyone

The beauty of the Kelowna Cup is simple. It’s not about being the fastest down the snowcross track at TELUS Park. It’s about matching your first run time as closely as possible on your second. Precision over speed. Strategy over send.

This year’s racers proved just how competitive that can be. From our youngest competitor at just 5 years old to our oldest at 81, the event truly showcased the spirit of our mountain community. Every age group brought focus, determination, and plenty of fun to the course.

Congratulations to Our 2026 Winners

A huge congratulations to the racers who achieved the closest time difference between their two runs:

  • Child: Ryker Willis – 0.045
  • Youth: Maggie Hetherington – 0.036
  • Open Women: Laura Gray – 0.017
  • Open Men: Skylar Shaw – 0.079

Matching your time within hundredths of a second is no easy feat. Incredible consistency from all of you.

Best Dressed Bragging Rights

Style was in full force this year. Capes, colour, creativity, and plenty of retro flair showed up on course.

Congratulations to The Hetherington Family, who took home Best Dressed with their Super Mario theme. They brought the characters, the colour, and the fun. It was impossible not to smile watching them head down the track.

Supporting Powderhounds

Most importantly, this event continues to make a real impact. The $20,681 raised will support Powderhounds Adaptive Snowsports, a program of People in Motion that helps individuals with physical, cognitive, or sensory challenges experience the joy of skiing and snowboarding at Big White.

That’s what this day is really about. Since the TELUS Kelowna Cup began, the event has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for charitable causes across the BC Interior. It’s about community. It’s about access and opportunity. And most of all, it’s about getting more people out on the snow.

A big shoutout to TELUS for their continued support, our incredible events crew who keep everything running smoothly, and every volunteer who gave their time to make the day special.

And to every racer who signed up, dressed up, showed up, and gave it their best effort, thank you. You made the 2026 TELUS Kelowna Cup one to remember.

We’ll see you next year at the start line.
