Refundable Pass Option

Can I get a full refund if I change my mind about purchasing my season pass?
You can buy your pass with confidence, knowing that you can get a full refund if you choose to cancel your pass for any reason, prior to the scheduled opening day, November 26, 2026.

What is the Refundable Pass Option?
The Refundable Pass Option (“RPO”) gives you the assurance of a full or partial refund for certain personal events that prevent you from using your pass during the season. Without a valid RPO, season passes are non-refundable under any circumstance after opening day, November 26, 2026.

How do I sign up?
Select the Refundable Pass Option when you purchase your season pass online. The RPO is only available when purchased concurrently with your seasons pass.

How much does this cost?
The Refundable Pass Option is $30 per passholder and is non-refundable.

What is covered by Refundable Pass Option?
You may be eligible for a full or partial refund in the event you are unable to use your pass during the Ski Season because of a Qualifying Personal Event:

  • Injury or Illness: You are diagnosed by a physician with any illness or injury after the date which you purchased your pass. Any conditions diagnosed before purchase are not covered.
  • Family Member Illness or Injury:  a Family Member who lives in the same Permanent Residence as is diagnosed by a physician with an illness or injury after you purchase your pass and that requires your continued care for that Family Member. The term “Family Member” means your child, Domestic Partner, brother, sister, mother, father, step-child, step-brother, step-sister, step-parents, legal guardian, foster child, ward or legal ward.
  • Death: In the event of your death a refund will be awarded to another Family Member with the same Permanent Residence. In the event of the death of a family Member (as defined above) which occurs after you purchase your pass you may also receive a refund if you are unable to continue to use your pass.
  • Pregnancy: You learn that you are pregnant after you purchase your pass.
  • Employment Transfer: An employment transfer, more than 200kms from the resort. (Applies to residents of British Columbia).
  • Travel Restrictions: A government-imposed restriction (does not cover advisories and/or recommendations) that prevents your access to Big White Ski Resort will entitle you to a refund or credit (credits can be used towards the purchase of a new pass in the next season).

Update: All Specific personal events must affect at least 30 consecutive days of the ski season to qualify. Supporting documentation must be provided with each claim.

When does this take effect?
From opening day until closing day of the winter season.

Are resort closures caused by snow events covered?
No, you will not be eligible for a refund due to a weather related closure.

Do I receive a refund or a credit to apply to next season?
The choice is yours!

What will be my refund if I qualify?
Your refund will be based on the price of number of days your pass was used:

How do I request a refund?
You must submit an email to bookdirect@bigwhite.com before the final day of the winter season. Please provide an explanation, your name as it appears on your pass and your birthdate. Sufficient evidence and/or documentation to support the claim must also be provided. Failure to provide supporting documents may result in the claim being denied.

Once you have received a full or partial refund your pass will be deactivated and you will no longer be able to use your pass to access Big White Ski Resort for the remainder of the winter season. All refunds are subject to Big White Ski Resort Ltd.’s discretion and approval. Big White Ski Resort Ltd.’s interpretation of the above conditions in final. All refund requests need to be emailed before the end of the winter season. Any refund requests received after this will not be accepted.
