Building the Next Generation: Big White and Big White Freestyle Extend Partnership

Posted On: December 16, 2025 |
Big White Ski Resort and the Big White Freestyle Club are excited to announce a new three-year partnership agreement that will run through the 2028 season.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment to youth sport, athlete development, and the continued growth of freestyle skiing and snowboarding at Big White.

Big White has a long history of supporting freestyle sport, most notably through TELUS Park, which has become a cornerstone for training and progression on the mountain. This renewed partnership builds on that foundation, ensuring young athletes have access to high-quality facilities and a clear pathway from early development to elite competition.

“This agreement underscores Big White Ski Resort’s commitment to freestyle skiing and snowboarding,” said Trevor H. Hanna, Vice President of Hospitality at Big White Ski Resort. “We’re excited to work alongside the Club to promote youth sport, support athlete progression, and partner on fundraising opportunities for future capital projects, including earthworks for a landing airbag site.”

As part of the agreement, freestyle athletes will have access to several key training features as soon as conditions allow. These include a landing airbag site, XL jumps in TELUS Park, and a dedicated mogul course on Sun Run. Together, these features provide athletes with safe, progressive terrain that supports skill development at every stage.

Big White Freestyle Club leaders see the partnership as a major step forward for the program and its athletes.

“Big White Freestyle is thrilled to partner with the resort in creating a sustainable pathway for athlete progression,” said Dallas Wilson, President of Big White Freestyle. “These facilities will allow our athletes to train at the highest level and represent not just Big White Freestyle, but also the mountain they call home — Big White.”

The Club has consistently developed athletes who have reached provincial and national podiums, thanks to the dedication of its coaches, volunteers, and families. Continued access to top-tier training terrain plays a critical role in maintaining that success.

“Having consistent access to high-quality training facilities is essential for our athletes,” added Dani Gill, member of the Big White Freestyle Club Board of Directors. “This partnership ensures we can continue to grow the program while giving our athletes the tools they need to compete at the highest levels.”

Through this collaboration, Big White Ski Resort and the Big White Freestyle Club are setting the stage for the next generation of freestyle champions, reinforcing Big White’s reputation as a leader in winter sport development.
