Okanagan Bucket List Partner Predator Ridge, Unveils Canada's First Standalone Ritz-Carlton Residential Development

Posted On: May 09, 2024 |
In a landmark development for Western Canada, Big White Ski Resort proudly announces its Okanagan Bucket List (OKBL) partner, Predator Ridge, owned by Wesbild Holdings Ltd., will build a prestigious Ritz-Carlton Residences, Okanagan, at Predator Ridge.

This pioneering project will introduce a premier, world-class luxury brand to the Okanagan and the first-ever standalone Ritz-Carlton branded residences in Western Canada.

This venture represents a pivotal milestone in luxury real estate within the region and underscores the strength of the collaborations fostered by the OKBL network. According to Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice President at Big White Ski Resort, the expected completion in 2026 will spur regional growth and bolster the area's status as a leading destination for both tourism and upscale living.

"For 12 years, Big White Ski Resort, Predator Ridge, Mission Hill Family Estate Winery, Eldorado Resort, the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association and Kelowna International Airport have been working together to advance the interests of all tourism-related businesses throughout the Okanagan Valley and region," said Ballinghall. "It is with great pleasure that we amplify the announcement made by Predator Ridge earlier today."

“For 33 years, Predator Ridge has evolved to become one of Canada’s premiere all-season resort communities, bringing regional and national success to the emerging Okanagan Valley. It is an honour to have been selected by The Ritz-Carlton, let alone be the host property for so many Canadian firsts,” says Brad Pelletier, Senior Vice President, Wesbild Holdings Ltd. “I’m incredibly proud of Predator Ridge’s initial vision and humble roots, but seeing the looks on The Ritz-Carlton executives’ faces when we toured them around our property and region was something I’ll never forget. This is the ultimate testimonial for what we’ve become.”

As a key member of the OKBL partnership, Predator Ridge works closely with Big White Ski Resort, enhancing the region's appeal as a top-tier destination for outdoor and leisure activities. This collaboration enriches the Okanagan's allure, attracting both visitors and residents who seek the finest in skiing, golf, and luxury living.

With the upcoming introduction of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Predator Ridge is set to be the crown jewel in the Okanagan's narrative of growth and sophistication.

"This project will not only raise the bar for luxury in the region but will also make a substantial contribution to the Canadian economy," notes Ballingall.

Excitement is mounting at Big White Ski Resort as this initiative is poised to redefine luxury living in Canada.

About Predator Ridge Limited: Nestled in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, Predator Ridge is one of Canada's leading four-season resort communities featuring 22 distinct neighbourhoods of award-winning homes located amidst 36 holes of championship golf, exceptional accommodation and unmatched amenities.

In 1991, Predator Ridge opened its doors as a rural golf course, the longest in British Columbia. Over the years, it blossomed to add its first subdivision (1999), resort accommodations (2000) and amenities (2005). Following its purchase by Wesbild in 2007, the Lower Mainland developer renovated the clubhouse, constructed the award-winning 18-hole golf course, now known as "The Ridge," and added several new neighbourhoods. Today, the thriving, all-season community features 1000+ residential units planned and built to date, surrounded by stunning panoramic views of Lake Okanagan and the mountains.
