In any normal winter, Cameron Birch and his family of five would pack their bags for an all-inclusive vacation somewhere warm and sunny.

But when the pandemic kept them from booking a trip south, the Kelowna family looked closer to home and bought season passes to Big White Ski Resort for the first time.

Big White Ski Resort is pleased to donate $15,000 to the Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB), matching the over $15,000 donated by skiers, snowboarders and Central Okanagan locals. Throughout the month of March, and in conjunction with the TELUS Snowcross Challenge, Big White coordinated a matching donation campaign, which ended up raising $38,650 for the COFB.

I just want to reach out and say thank you to all our staff this season. It doesn’t matter whether you were de-icing lifts or pouring coffees, you helped Big White get through its most complicated and toughest season ever. The effort that everyone has made to keep the resort safe and running has been monumental. You did it and we got there. Thank you.

Big White Ski Resort Ltd has made the difficult decision to close for the season on Monday, April 5 at 4pm, six days earlier than the scheduled date of April 11, to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and the recent surge in P.1 variant cases in British Columbia.

Mr. Peter Schumann (photo), on behalf of Big White Ski Resort Ltd, made a presentation today of $5,000 to the Big White Mountain Early Learning Centre to assist the non-profit organization in purchasing supplies, materials and to support the early child educator’s salary. 

Over the next three weekends of the TELUS Snowcross Challenge, and up until April 1, Big White Ski Resort is asking you – our guests, residents and partners – to consider donating to the Central Okanagan Food Bank. For every dollar donated, we will match it up to $15,000. All of that money will go directly to the COFB's Nutritional Improvement Program, which provides seasonal produce, meat, dairy and eggs, as well as children's snack packs to local families in need.

Now a year into this pandemic, we know all too well how tied to our computers, cellphones, and desks we need to be to keep things running smoothly, and we know those vacations to sunny beaches and exotic locations have been put on hold. Our fingers are stiff from typing, our eyes are sore from staring at the computer, our vacation days are racking up, and, to be honest, we’re just kind of tired of always making sure we look presentable in our Zoom meetings.

As the sun rises over the mountain, and in light of yesterday’s announcement from the Provincial Health Officer, it’s locals only for another month at Big White Ski Resort. Big White Central Reservations Ltd will be calling and cancelling all bookings from non-local customers until midnight February 5.

The Big White Fire Department’s Work Experience Program recruits were thanked this past December with a gift only fitting for those living on-mountain – season passes! 

Big White Ski Resort is encouraging its guests, staff and residents to follow the Provincial Health Office orders and ring in 2021 on December 31 with only their immediate household bubble. 

Working from home? Why not work at your home away from home – and by work, we mean strap on a pair of planks and hit the slopes. Still in the office? Well, we’re not saying we promote “calling in sick,” but we aren’t not promoting it… (please, do not come up to the mountain if you are actually sick!). Retired? What’s your excuse?! Skiing and snowboarding midweek has many perks, and we’ve compiled a few to get you pumped about that Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 3:30pm ski lifestyle.

While it’s been a difficult, but necessary, decision for us to close our Skating Rink this year, we’re happy to announce a new temporary Parking Lot in Happy Valley for our Club 65 members and those Travelling with Tots!

COVID-19 has had a large impact on public spaces, and Big White Ski Resort is no exception – so, this winter, we’re teaming up with a local Kelowna business to ensure your hands are clean, safe and comfortable all season long.

It goes without saying that in most remote communities, the ability to stay connected to the outside world can be a little frustrating. At Big White Ski Resort, this is not the case. Sure, lots of guests come to unplug, enjoy nature and escape their realities while at the resort – but, for those who are looking to still post that selfie, email their coworker, order take-out, pay bills, watch a movie – Big White’s got your back.

Who doesn’t love a stroll through the forest? Hearing the birds chirp, watching the squirrels jump between trees, feeling the breeze as it whistles through the leaves. Now, imagine, during that stroll, instead of stumbling across a patch of wildflowers, you stumble into a pile of trash. 

We know Big White is the best – how could we not? An average of 750cm of dry, fluffy Okanagan Champagne Powder in the Winter and fields upon fields of alpine wildflowers in the Summer? Sounds pretty epic to us... and, guess what, the rest of Kelowna seems to think we’re the best, too!

Over 400 skiers, snowboarders and snow-seekers from across the world will be descending on Big White in early March for the mountain’s largest amateur race event in history. From March 1 to 6, Big White is playing host to the International Airline Ski Federation’s 61st Annual World Airline Ski Championships.

Pop artist Billie Eilish might have taken home five Grammys last night – but on Saturday night, closer to home, at the Okanagan Housing Awards, Big White’s Snowpeaks Lodge was the big winner!

Catherine Heathcote has been skiing at Big White for 40 seasons. The resort is special to her for many reasons – it’s where she would take carloads of teenage boys every winter, where she met her second husband and where they were married.

Big White had plenty to celebrate this New Year’s – fresh powder, more open runs, and a spot on Reader’s Digest list of 13 “ski resorts to visit” in 2020! Our family-owned, family-friendly destination was listed as number two alongside resorts from around the world.

This time last year, 12-year-old Serena Richards didn’t know how to sew. Now, she’s started a bumping business sewing and selling bandanas from her home at Big White.

Elaborate timber details, high ceilings and 270 degree views of Big White beauty – it’s no surprise that the new Snowpeaks Lodge at Big White Ski Resort is an award-winning home. The family ski chalet is a finalist in five Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence categories, and was named twice in one category.

The wait is over! Okanagan’s Best Ski Resort and Canada’s Favourite Family Resort is officially open for the 2019/2020 season. On November 28, Big White Ski Resort kicked the season off with two lifts spinning, Lara’s Gondola and the Bullet Express Chairlift, and with three runs open, Sun Run, Easy Street and Freeway. The Kids Carpet in Happy Valley was also open for beginners

In just one week, Big White Ski Resort nabbed three honours: the Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s 2019 Pursuit Attraction & Adventure Award, Snowpak’s Best Ski Resort in the Okanagan and top three in Canada, plus a World Ski and Snowboard for “Canada’s Best Ski Chalet.”

After winning a prestigious national tourism award and being named best ski resort in the Okanagan last week, Big White Ski Resort has another reason to celebrate. Local chalet, Crescendo, was voted “Canada’s Best Ski Chalet” at the 7th Annual World Ski Awards in Kitzbühel, Austria this past Saturday.

While all of us at Big White Ski Resort know just how great our mountain is, according to Snowpak, experts in the business think it’s great, too! In a recent article on the “11 Best Canada Ski Resorts” Big White was named as number three, coming third to Whistler Blackcomb (2nd) and Lake Louise (1st).

The snow that’s fallen in recent weeks has Big White staff stoked for the upcoming season, and everyone’s busy planning not only for epic snow conditions, but also epic FUN – starting with Opening Weekend!

Big White Ski Resort is honoured to be included as a finalist for the Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s Pursuit Attraction & Adventure Award. The award, presented annually, recognizes a Canadian organization that provides outstanding outdoor adventure tourism experiences.

Big White Ski Resort is proud to be working with Insure Wealth Group and the Big White Community Development Association to raise funds for an Early Learning Centre at Big White. The goal is to launch the new centre – catering to children aged 18 months to five years old – this Fall, but in order to balance the budget in this first year, recruit new kids to attend, and get this great project up and running, the Big White Mountain Community Development Association needs to raise at least $5,000.

Big White Ski Resort is excited to announce the newest addition to its roster of professional athletes, 25-year-old Canadian Ski Cross member Ned Ireland. Ireland spent his formative years as a Big White local, growing up slope-side, attending the Big White Community School, and honing his skills on Big White’s famous Okanagan Champagne Powder – and on his favourite run, the Parachute Bowl.

Winter opening day is just two months away, snow is in the forecast, and, if that doesn’t get you excited enough for the upcoming ski season at Big White Ski Resort, 27 brand new Spyglass Townhomes are now on the market – the first new real estate available on the mountain in years.

Over the weekend, 13 board members from the International Airline Ski Federation visited Big White Ski Resort on a site inspection for the 61st Annual World Airline Ski Championships. Held between March 1 and 6, 2020, this international winter sports competition will be the largest race event Big White has hosted, with between 500 and 600 airline employees from around the world attending the event, and of those, 200 to 300 participating in the on-snow activities.

Big White Ski and Board School is pleased to announce the next major step for Freestyle Team participants at Big White Ski Resort.

The kids are back in school, the bikes packed away, and Summer at Big White has officially come to an end. On September 2, we said goodbye to hiking, biking and fields of wildflowers to patiently await snow and another epic season of skiing and boarding.

Real estate sales at Big White Ski Resort experienced a boom this past July, boasting 14 sales – making it the most successful July at the resort in 15 years.

In just a few months, the lifts at Big White Ski Resort will start spinning for another season. While guests have been busy hiking, biking, and playing on the mountain over the summer, staff have been digging, building, moving and investing to make the resort even better for the 2019/2020 Winter season.

Stranded on ice, cold, hungry and unable to swim, a Big White sled dog narrowly escaped death thanks to a hiker and the Big White Fire Department. On Monday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m., a hiker spotted the dog – which had been missing from Candle Creek Kennels for five days – out on the ice at Lake Paul, next to the Powder Chair.

The Barrels & Berms Snowboardcross World Cup at Big White Ski Resort will make its inaugural debut in the beautiful Okanagan region January 20 - 27, 2020. This will be the first Snowboardcross World Cup in Canada since 2013.

The snow is melting, the fences are being rolled up and hundreds of Big White Ski Resort employees are jumping on planes and heading back to their homes around the world or returning to their spring and summer jobs in the Okanagan. It was another epic winter, and to prove to you just how epic, we’ve broken down the season by numbers. 

Through bluebird skies and powder days, just like that, another fantastic season of skiing and riding has come to an end. All of us at Big White Ski Resort want to send out a huge thank you to those of you who chose to ski and board, drink and eat, stay and play at Canada’s Favourite Family Resort over the past five months. As we prepare for a sun-soaked summer full of hiking and biking, we want to take this opportunity to reflect on the 2018/2019 season. 

When you visit Big White Ski Resort, you’ll interact with a lot of the resort’s employees – from ticket officers to Ski & Board School instructors to restaurant servers and more. Each one has a name tag that includes their hometown and country – and this year, you can find 27 different countries on those name tags.

Big White Athlete and Olympic Champion Kelsey Serwa took home gold at the the 2019 Canadian Ski Cross Championship at Sunshine Village on Sunday. This event was Serwa's final race of the season.

For the first time in decades, dozens of racers ripped down the Lower Perfection run at Big White Ski Resort on Saturday for the chance to be named Team Supreme. The Ken Mitchell Memorial Team Supreme, presented by RE/MAX Kelowna, raised $18,132 for the BC Cancer Foundation through team fundraising, silent auction bids and entry donations.

We know it can be overwhelming tackling a new language when you’re travelling. Luckily for the English speakers that visit Big White Ski Resort, this isn’t much of a hurdle – but, like everywhere else, Canadians have a unique way of speaking that, at times, can cause quite the kerfuffle (problem). So, for all you keeners (brown-nosers) out there looking to make your transition from tourist to full-blown Canuck (Canadian) more seamless, we’ve translated a list of Canadianisms for you to use on your next visit to Big White.

For you, the mountains surrounding Big White Ski Resort may seem worlds away from the beaches that line the coasts of Australia and New Zealand. But, we like to think there are more similarities than differences, and we’ve come up with five reasons why you should think this, too. (But, as similar as we think mountains and beaches are, we wouldn’t recommend taking up valuable luggage space with flip flops and beach balls!)

At Big White Ski Resort, we love Mother Nature. She’s responsible for our blanket of Okanagan Champagne Powder in the winter and for the fields of wildflowers in the summer – and, of course, the spectacular views of the Monashee and Selkirk Mountain ranges.

Since 2014, Big White Ski Resort been the backdrop for numerous love stories – in summer, winter, sun and snow. The event professionals at Big White will make your wedding day story-book perfect, whether that’s hauling benches to your chosen “I do” location, helping you find a wedding planner and photographer, or simply being there for support while you do it yourself.

On Sunday, March 17, Big White Ski Resort Ltd. honoured the life and legacy of Canadian ski legend Jimmie Spencer with a special bridge dedication ceremony. The skier bridge over Hummingbird run was named the “Jimmie Spencer Memorial Bridge,” with a plaque commemorating the man who developed the Canada West Way.

When you’re training ground is your backyard, a career as a professional skier doesn’t seem all that farfetched. “I could just walk out the back door and jump on a ski run,” says 17-year-old Lewis Brunt.

Brunt, whose been skiing at the age of three, is well on his way to becoming a professional freeskier – a feat he attributes largely to his upbringing at Big White Ski Resort and time at the Big White Community School.

All ye hooligans, rejoice! St. Patrick’s Day is here again, and that means green pints and shamrocks galore – plus plenty of good Irish fun for the whole family. We’ve put together a list of all of the shenanigans at the resort to help you celebrate this lucky day. You dig?

Oh! And don’t forget to wear green out there on the slopes, unless ye fancy a pinch!

Seventeen-year-old Gabby Guarducci dropped into the sport of freeride skiing by chance. “My former coach put us into groups, and we didn’t know what they were. Some were in park, some were on moguls, and some were in freeride,” she says. “He took us out on to The Cliff and we did two laps there and I never wanted to leave.”

Big White Ski Resort is bringing some oomph to the stale standard of ski resort fare with a little help from the Okanagan Valley’s burgeoning food and wine scene.

Here at Big White, we know one day of family time just isn’t enough – that’s why we have non-stop fun planned for the days leading up to and following BC’s Family Day on February 18. Because at Canada’s Favourite Family Resort, we treat every day like it’s Family Day. 

Big White Ski Resort is known for being exceptionally family-friendly, but what you maybe didn’t know, was that we include pets in our definition of family. So, if you’re thinking of coming for a visit, don’t let your four-legged family members hold you back! 

Initially destined for the mountain’s annual equipment swap, Big White Ski Resort’s old rentals have instead found a new home in a small ski area called Summit Lake, just a few hours northeast of Kelowna – an exchange prompted by a chance encounter between Summit Lake Director Dan Paul and Big White Mountain Manager Mike St. Clair at last spring’s Canada West Ski Areas Association (CWSAA) conference in Lake Louise.

In light of a recent incident that left two Big White snowboarders lost in backcountry terrain, we want to remind our guests to stay within boundary lines. While we know backcountry can be tempting, and, if you are trained, prepared and carrying the proper gear, can be explored safely, our number one priority at the resort is ensuring guests enjoy our beautiful terrain responsibly.

Or, if you've already taken off your boots and settled in for the night, order your alcohol online and have it delivered right to your door! With a curated list of Okanagan wines, craft beers and ciders, and locally distilled spirits, the Big White Beer & Wine store has something for every taste. Now into our second week of 2019, the team at Big White Ski Resort has had time to reflect on our record-breaking end to 2018 , and dream about how we can possibly top it in the new year.

The next chef to keep an eye on at Big White is just 12 years old. Kelowna-based Raajin Hoonjan beat out 21 other aspiring young chefs, including his 10-year-old sister Giann, at our Jr. Chef Challenge on December 28, presented by Family Channel and hosted by Happy Valley’s executive chef, Chef Boddie Macklin-Shaw.

The prospect of learning how to ski was daunting to 30-year-old Brazilian-native Raquel Rodrigues. At first, anyway. “I was scared,” she said, but she thought to herself: “I better be fearless and give it a try.”

It's time to start thinking about what you would like to change in the New Year, and while we know it can be hard to make good on those resolutions, luckily Big White is here to help. From losing weight to trying something new to reconnecting with nature, whatever your resolution is, let's resolve it together!

We wrapped 281 empty boxes and cooked 549 kilograms of turkey. We decorated 38 trees with 2.27 kilometres – or 315 strings with 22,050 bulbs – of lights. The 271 songs on our Christmas playlist in the Village Centre Mall each played 5 times, and Santa heard wishes from 1,229 good girls and boys, big and small, from as many as 12 different countries – as well as wishes from 31 4-legged good girls and boys.

Throughout the winter season, Big White is teaming with visitors from around the world. With guests flying in from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Japan, Mexico and so many other far-off locations, we know that adjusting from a long-haul flight can be a drag.

To make your stay at Big White as comfortable and “Canadian” as possible, it’s important to know the ins and outs of tipping etiquette here in the Great White North. (And no, we don’t mean the “don’t eat yellow snow” kind of tips).

Australia's most popular morning show, the TODAY Show on channel 9, was at Big White Ski Resort Tuesday, December 18 as part of a five-resort tour of B.C. The show's weather host, Stevie Jacobs, did six live hits from different locations around the mountain, including Dizzy's, Clocktower Coffee and from inside a hot tub! Jacobs, who felt at home with all of our Australian employees, learned what a "toque" was, took a snowmobile tour, and tried Kettle Valley Steakhouse's famous Tomahawk steak!

The wait is over! Big White Ski Resort’s brand new, $4-million Powder 2.0 Quad Chair started spinning Friday morning – bringing hundreds of skiers and boarders to 13 fresh runs within the first hour of operation.

The name of Big White Ski Resort’s newest run – The General – may seem an odd choice, but those of you who have been around the mountain for a long time will know it’s a name rooted in history.

While Santa’s elves are busy making millions of presents for millions of good little boys and girls this month, the staff at Big White Ski Resort are also busy wrapping hundreds of presents, checking thousands of lights, decorating dozens of trees and preparing for a 25-day kaleidoscope of red, white and green fun.

After nearly a week without fresh snow, Mother Nature made sure to show off for visitors on Big White Ski Resort’s Opening Day.

Australia’s favourite travel show Sydney Weekender spent some time at Big White as part of their British Columbia, Canada tour.

TELUS and Big White Ski Resort Ltd. hosted the fourth annual TELUS Kelowna Cup in February raising $32,564 to support amateur racing through the Big White Ski Club and the world famous Nancy Greene Race League.

The embers are still hot on another record-breaking winter season at Big White Ski Resort, which closed on Sunday, April 8, following the second annual Season Ender Slush Cup.

It’s time for us to say farewell to winter, although it seems winter is not quite ready to say goodbye itself. With a snow base currently sitting well over three metres and cumulative snowfall edging closer and closer to the 10 metre mark, the 2017-2018 winter season will not be soon forgotten. We would like to thank all those who joined us and helped make it such a memorable season.

Today is Australia Day and Big White Ski Resort is celebrating!

Participants from Australia, New Zealand and Canada in the 2nd Annual Intercontinental Cup.

Seven busses from Big White Ski Resort carrying 378 fans from all over the world helped cheer the Kelowna Rockets to a 4-3 overtime victory against the Lethbridge Hurricanes yesterday evening. Cal Foote scored the overtime winner for the Rockets assisted by fellow Team Canada World Junior teammate, Dillon Dube, who also had a goal of his own on the night.

This holiday season, Big White Ski Resort was proud to donate and decorate a tree for the Kelowna’s Festival of Trees, hosted at Mission Hill Family Estate Winery - an event that raised more than $30,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Big White Ski Resort has gifted the Big White Fire Department Work Experience Program (WEP) members with complimentary season passes for the 2017-2018 winter season. The WEP is now in its 16th year and over 85 members have been hired into career fire departments all across Canada and the world.

Last weekend, December 16-17, Big White Ski Resort Ltd. hosted a national learn-to-ski/snowboard program through the Canadian Ski Council called Never Ever Days. It is a specially designed ski and snowboard course created for adults who have never slid on snow before.

Big White Ski Resort in conjunction with Coast Capital Savings has entered into an agreement as the official naming sponsor of the immensely popular Cruz the Blues event series.

Here we are in November, or as many guys now call it MOvember. November started out with a big snowfall! Over 30cm of snow on weekend and it's still snowing! Laughing Another big storm is hitting the resort today, 8cm in the last 12hrs!

BIG WHITE, BRITISH-COLUMBIA (MARCH 25, 2013) – Canada’s best Snowboardcross athletes will take part in the Sport Chek Canadian Snowboardcross Championships from March 25 - 30 at Big White Ski Resort. Spectators will have the opportunity to watch performances from 2010 Olympic Champion and 2013 FIS World Champion Maëlle Ricker from Squamish, BC as well as Blue Mountain FIS World Cup victor Chris Robanske from North Vancouver, BC.

Alongside the Sport Chek Canadian Championships, the two last stops of the IPC World Cup tour will also be presented on the same course. These races will feature Canadian medal hopefuls Tyler Mosher from Whistler, BC and Ian Lockey from Arnprior, ON at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games.

Dave Zerr Experiences Big White... Again!
It was with a great deal of excitement and anticipation that I returned to Big White with my two son's after having worked there many years ago. To say that what I found was "unbelievable", would be an understatement!

Each year at the BC Alpine Awards Banquet the coveted award for the Event of The Year is presented to a ski club that has demonstrated the ability to host an outstanding event, whether it be a race, special event or a festival. 2012 the Big White Racers together with the Big White Ski Resort pulled out all the stops for the BC Alpine Teck K1 Provincial Championships winning this prestigious award. Voted on by their peers this truly was a feather in the cap for the club and the resort.

A total of 205 racers ages 11-12 competed in 3 day event that included Giant Slalom, Slalom and Ski Cross races under glorious sunny blue skies Mar 16-18. To execute an event of this magnitude is not for the faint of heart as it takes 120 volunteers a day with a can do attitude under the leadership of a dedicated Race and Social committee. Race courses groomed to perfection, timing that was flawless and race officials that radiated pride were eminent all weekend long.

Topping off these first class races were social events, starting off with a thank you to the backbone of a race event the volunteers with a gathering at the end of the day with pizza and brew. The crowning jewel was a fantastic VIP appreciation party held in the Village Centre Mall for parents, coaches and volunteers.

All the while the young athletes were dancing the night away down at Happy Valley after their own dinner banquet. They too went home with great results, memories and swag bags compliments of the various sponsors. Everything was done right and nothing left to chance.

“This was one of the best provincial ski events ever, every little detail was thought of and the races were extremely well executed, a job well done. How anyone can top this event is beyond me” commented Teresa C. Fernie Alpine Ski Team Mom.

The day you have been waiting for has finally arrived - Big White Ski Resort is opening 2 days ahead of schedule for the 2012/2013 season! The lifts will be spinning for the first time for eager skiers and riders at 8:45am tomorrow morning! The excitement on the hill is apparent and we cannot wait to get the season underway.

The 7th Annual Okanagan Spring Film & Photo Contest starts accepting photos as of March 1 and you can send them in anytime between March 1 to 25. The winners will be announced on March 30 at the Happy Valley Day Lodge at 8pm.

With all the webcams I see out on the hill, I’m really expecting this year’s annual photo and film contest to have some outstanding entries! Especially with all the powder we’ve had dumped on the mountain in the past few weeks!

There’s a couple of entry conditions you’ll need to know:

Only one entry per category so pick your very best
All photos must have been taken during this 2011/2012 season at Big White Ski Resort and must have been taken by you, owned by you, etc.;
Films may be no longer than 5 minutes, in MPEG format and on DVD.
There are three Photo Categories: Lifestyle, Live Action and Landscape, and the Film Categories are either Amateur or Professional.

Okay, admit it, how many of you looked at yesterday’s report and saw there was 16 cm of fresh champagne powder, then looked at the date and thought, yeah, right, April Fool’s to you too!

Well, it was no April Fool’s joke and the only April Fools were the one’s who missed out on such an amazing day up on the hill. There was fresh powder tracks still to be found at the end of the day by those smart enough to ski across the fall line and the sun even came out to celebrate in the afternoon for the last few runs!

Does it get much better than that? I don’t think so.

Now that April Fool’s Day is over, sadly, it means the countdown to the end of the season is here. Two weeks from now is too late as the season ends April 15th.

Line ups are non-existent, the sun is shining this morning and there’s still fresh powder to be found if you know where to look. And that’s no April Fool’s Joke!

Today Big White Ski Resort played host to the Sport Chek Ski Cross Open Event. It was a huge success with over 70 athletes varying in age from 7-65yrs.

OK, so I’m going to let you in on a little secret but you have to promise not to tell anyone else. You know those big powder dumps we’ve been having lately? Well, sticking to the main runs, admittedly, the fresh un-tracked stuff down the middle only lasts for a few runs before everyone has already skied through it and while you can still find un-tracked fresh powder on the far edges, where there are a lot of other Powder-Hounds out there with you, even that can diminish. There is usually plenty to be found in the trees for those who comfortable heading to the inbound glades, but not everyone likes skiing in the trees.

It might be snowing but the Big White Staff aren’t afraid to take on the anti-bullying campaign! Big White’s front line staff brave the cold with Boomer the kangaroo, the Loose Moose and two young guests at the resort, Jenna & Mia Stacey. The Moose and Boomer will be touring the Kids Centre, the Happy Valley Day Lodge and the Big White Community School to raise awareness and collect donations. All donations will be sent to the “Bullying Stops Here” Campaign at the boys & girls club in the Central Okanagan.

With longer ski days and the highest ski base of the season there is no better time to ski Big White than this Spring! Big White’s 3 day Spring Sale is huge, offering a variety of special offers on everything from Accommodation and Lift tickets to Dining, Activities and Retail Services. Offers may be limited or subject to availability based on a first come, first serve basis.

Last weekend started with a picture-postcard day, complete with amazing blue skies on Saturday. The Skoolers were stoked to have a day without lessons and a day on the hill working on the skills they have worked on it the last few weeks. At last lifts (3.30pm) a load of us had planned to meet at the top of the T-bar to watch the sunset, so we all grabbed a few beers and headed up there. It was awesome at the very top of the mountain, especially as there was such a big group of us! Afterwards a lot of the crew headed back to their apartments but a few turbo-ed over to the park to have a few runs on the kickers and exploit Keepo’s photography skills to the max! Later in the evening, it was the UFC finals so loads of people gathered at Sam’s to watch the game and grab some food while a few chilled at home – with the final week of training looming before the Level 1’s, lots of the crew are getting nervous and staying in to read their manuals!
