Mark your calendars - the Big White Community School’s Annual Young Entrepreneur (YES) Show is BACK on February 24, from 10 am to 2 pm, in The Happy Valley Day Lodge.

This special market showcases a variety of businesses built by these dynamic young entrepreneurs.

Check out this lineup of talented young students from Big White!

Fox Pour Art

Fox Pour Art - Isaac’s paint pour art and jewelry business

“I am 10 years old, and this is my 4th year running my business. I enjoy paint pouring as I get to spend time with my mum. My favourite paintings are the underwater scenes. I use a hairdryer to create, which is fun but a little scary too. Every painting is totally unique, which I think makes them special. We try not to be wasteful, so the drips from the paintings are left to dry. Once dry, they are called paint skins, and I use them to make the jewelry.”

Burning Embers

Burning Embers - Ember’s candle busines

“I am 5 years old, and this is my first time doing the YES. I have watched my brother do the YES for a few years now and am excited to be able to join him. I decided I wanted to make candles, and my mummy has been helping me. I picked out scents and colours that I think will smell nice and look pretty. I have to be very careful as melting the wax is hot! I hope that people think my candles smell nice.”

Eye of the Storm - Theo Storm’s Big White merch

“Hi, I'm Theo, I am in Grade 2, and this is my third year participating in the Young Entrepreneur Show. Every year I try to create a new product/service or philanthropic mission under my business name, ‘Eye of the Storm.’ This year I chose to represent Big White Community School by selling Big White merch. I will be selling Big White Bears stickers, buttons, pins and keychains. Our school is important, and I love supporting it. Come check out my business, buy some merch or stop by to say hello. I love the Y.E.S project and can't wait to show you what I've created this year!”

Mountain Girl Crafts - Crafts by Jaya and Isla Millan

“Hi, our names are Jaya and Isla Millan. We are the creators of Mountain Girl Crafts. We are in grades 4 and 1 at the Big White Community School. We love to craft and make new things with our mom. Every year we try and change things up a little but still make things with different types of vinyl. Some years we've done t-shirts, other years signs. This year we are doing a little of everything. We've got colour-changing cups and mugs with decals, t-shirts with vinyl images, and a couple of mountain signs. We can't wait for you to see all the things we have made!”

Emily's Bombing Chocolates - chocolates by Emily Lam

“Hello, my name is Emily, and I am seven years old. This year for the Young Entrepreneur Show, I will be selling my hot chocolate bombs and hot chocolate lollies made by my own company Emily's Bombing Chocolates! My Aunt Katty is teaching me everything she knows about melting chocolate. I am learning a lot! It is very cold up here on Big White Mountain, so come on down to Happy Valley Day Lodge to warm yourself up with this yummy treat. I really hope you enjoy tasting them as much as I liked making them!”
