Where Mother Nature has left off, our Park crew here at Big White has picked up the slack.  With a slower snow year than predicted, the Telus Park staff has made it their mission to keep people interested by building the biggest and most diverse terrain park in interior BC.

The Big White Toque: 10,000 sold in 14 months

If you’ve walked around Big White Ski Resort, you’ve probably seen dozens of Big White toques – the colourful hats with their huge white pom-poms. Over the last 14 months, the humble accessory has become one of the most recognisable icons of the resort. This is how it became more popular than anyone could have predicted.

Nakiska Mountain Resort was host to the U18 National Jr Alpine Championships last week, Feb 25th through to the 27th. Big White Ski Racers Meg Cumming, Simon Bernard and Ryan Moffat competed in the four day event that featured Super G (a single run speed event), Giant Slalom and Slalom (two run combined time technical events).                    

VANS Hi Standard Series comes to Big White

Some big news for Big White Ski Resort this season. The difficult winter season in North Vancouver has meant that the VANS Hi Standard series has been rescheduled. For the first time in history, the series is now coming out to the Okanagan on the 28th March.

Being a school student at Big White Ski Resort’s Community School means that no day is ever an average school day. Yesterday was no exception, with school students having the opportunity to speak to some of Canada’s greatest athletes as they visit the resort for competition.

20-year-old Ned Ireland from Okanagan Centre started off the 2015 Ski Cross NorAm season with a bang last week, winning the first NorAm race and placing 2nd in the second race at Ski Cooper in Colorado.

BC Alpine finalized its Canada Winter Games selection Friday at Big White. The resort proudly boasts one of the most highly-regarded Ski Cross tracks in Western Canada.

Australia Day 2015 at Big White

Over one hundred Australians dressed up in their boardies, bikinis and Aussie flags to kick off Australia Day on the mountain this morning. Meeting for a 10am run down “Kangaroo”, everyone munched on Tim Tams while posing for photos with Boomer, our kangaroo mascot.

Big White News: The Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race

There was chanting, singing and last-minute engineering modifications. That's right - The Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race came to Big White Ski Resort for one fun-filled morning of tobogganing in Happy Valley. Over 400 engineering students from all over Canada and the US came along to join the challenge of who could build the best toboggan. There was one major rule - only the concrete parts of the toboggan could touch the snow.
