Ten consecutive weeks of mountain fun & adventure for the rippers in the family in the Free Ride Club! Choose half or full day options on Saturdays and Sundays. Free Riders are grouped by ability and age and work with coaches over the course of the program to improve skills and gain confidence. Fun competitions are scheduled throughout the program and weekly dress-up themes are manditory so keep checking the website to keep up to date with everything that's going on!

Details:

There's great fun and adventure to be had around the mountain for the rippers of the family in this program! Free Riders are grouped together by ability & age and work with coaches over the course of the program to gain confidence and improve their skills on all the terrain the mountain has to offer. Choose from half and full day options on Saturdays and/or Sundays for ten consecutive weeks starting in January.
 
*Helmets are required for all participants. Ages 5-14yrs.
*Must be comfortable on Green runs to participate in the program.

Dates: Saturdays or Sundays, Jan 11th + 12th until March 15th + 16th

Times:
Half Day: 9:30am – 12:00pm
Full Day: 9:30am – 3:30pm

Cost:
Half Day: Early Bird Rate $299.00 plus tax
              From 1st Dec $349 plus tax
              From 1st Jan $389 plus tax

Full Day: Early Bird Rate $479 plus tax (includes lunch)
              From 1st Dec $529 plus tax
              From 1st Jan $569 plus tax

 9:15am - Meet outside VCM (First day meet at 9am)

12:00pm - Lunch at Happy Valley
 1:00pm - Back on snow
 3:30pm - End of day

Week 1: Organize the groups for the season

Week 2: Stance and Balance

Week 3: Pivot and Steering

Week 4: Edging

Week 5: Pressure Control

Week 6: Timing and Coordination

Week 7: Riding the whole mountain (Choosing a costume and a team name for Competition!)

Week 8: Jumps and Halfpipe

Week 9: Preparation for week 10 competition and review of goals

Week 10: Skills Competition and Wind Up Party

Each Group will have the chance to use video analysis as an improvement tool, this will be used at the discretion of the instructor. Also there will be photo opportunities provided throughout the program by Quickpics Photography.

At the end of the season your Freeride Instructor will assign you a Freeride level so you know exactly how well you have done this year! The levels and their Kids' Centre equivalents are listed below - you can check out what they look like by finding the right video here

This is a special program for the parents of Free Riders only. Get to know the parents of the other kids your children are on the mountain with by skiing or snowboarding with them and one of our pros! With your child in the Free Ride program it won't be long before they're leaving you in the dust! Put off that inevitable day by getting some pointers yourself.

Want to learn how to become a ski or snowboard instructor, but not sure where to start? Then we have the program for you! We will be offering starting this season our brand new “Pros-In-Training,” where you will receive training from a level 1 evaluator and gain some real world experience over 10 weekends, before taking your level 1 instructor course† at the end of the season. This is a great way to step into the exhilarating world of ski and snowboard instruction!

Program dates: Saturdays or Sundays from January 7 till March 11

Cost: $505.00

Lunch will be provided to participants
