| Kelowna and Big White Ski Resort are the front runners to host the 2011 Winter International Children’s Games. The International Children’s Games are affiliated with the Olympic movement and the I.O.C., but much lower key and targeted at the 14 to 15 year old athlete. This will be the first time the Games will be held outside of Europe. Kelowna has an agreement in principle to host the Games and final approval will be forth coming towards the end of summer. Kelowna was chosen because of its great sports facilities, it’s proximity to Big White Ski resort, a world class ski destination and the wealth of experience in the area for hosting high level winter sports.
