The Edge
Innovation, style and efficiency are the key to The Edge mountain homes. The beautiful homes boast massive floor plans, floor to ceiling windows, sustainable energy and spectacular views. With just 26 homes available, each is designed to embody the magical surroundings of Big White. Construction continues to finish the final phase.
6 Degrees Bistro
A new intimate restaurant situated slope side in the Stonebridge Lodge, is being finished off for opening early season 2009. They will be open for breakfast, lunch, après and dinner featuring great Tapas and the Okanagan’s finest wine selection.
Gigi's
A new restaurant named Gigi's is opening. Located above The Market in the Village plaza, Gigi's features modern Italian food served until late, with a contemporary bar serving cocktails, wines by the glass with cool lounge music with guest DJ’s, "Blue’s Nights” and cool jazz.
Bear House Delicatessen
Located at Trappers Crossing, they have a fine choice of European, Mediterranean, and local Canadian food. Decorations, gifts, and more. Come to try our Big White Gluhwein (dealcoholized). Open daily from 2:30pm to 7:30pm.
Big White Firehall
A new Firehall is in the works. It will be located across the Big White Road from Lower Snowpine Estates. The surveying finished up now and the site preparation is in the works. It is in the tender stage for design and build and will start construction in the spring of 2010.
There have been a number of projects taking place on the mountain over the summer, all of which will improve the guests experience.
Summer Grooming Program
The very successful summer grooming program continues this year with seeding of bare areas and a dedicated crew brush cutting and clearing runs and glades.
Cliff Chair
A new unload ramp at the Cliff Chair has been built allowing the lift to be opened earlier in the season. 20 tons of earth were moved up by hand to that area to make this project possible.
TELUS Terrain Park
TELUS Park has acquired 4 new features that will help develop our progression system even further. The progression system is based around Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large park features. The features are marked with signs at the entrance of the feature according to its size. This concept allows the skier or snowboarder to understand the size and shape of features found in terrain parks. The progression system allows the user to make choices on which features to use depending on their individual ability. The Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large features are designed in progression so a person can essentially start small and work their way up at their own pace. Two 10 and two 16 foot boxes will be introduced to the park to allow you more options to develop your skill and progress at your own speed
Big White Games 2010
This coming year is going to be truly historic for British Columbia and Canada with the 2010 Games in our very own backyard. To celebrate and honor the Games Big White Ski Resort will have a special event, in addition to our famous family activities, every day throughout the two weeks of the Games, complete with daily medal presentations. We will have participation prizes for everyone! There will be a Torchlight and Nations Flag parade to launch the Games and don’t miss the closing Ceremonies party at Happy Valley. We’ll also be tuned into the Games at all times throughout our restaurants, bars and Village Centre so you won’t miss anything.
Happy Valley will be “The Official Home of the Olympics at Big White” with large screen TV’s all around so you won’t miss any of the action. They will have daily drink specials (Canadian and world themed) and have "medal celebration drinks" when Canada or your country wins so let them know you ‘re there. Happy Valley will also host a daily dinner buffet special in the lounge area from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and featuring menus from Winter Olympic nations. Also check out the medal count board which will be updated as events are won!

Kelowna Internal Airport Runway Extension
The Kelowna runway extension is now complete and has increased the runway length from 7,300 feet to 9,000 feet. International flights no longer have to connect through Calgary or Vancouver to reach Kelowna. This places Kelowna as the third international gateway in BC.
