Well folks another year has passed in TELUS park and it was a good one.
This past season showed one of the best parks we have had. The addition of the new rails, boxes and wall ride made a huge difference in our ability to try new set ups. Having Ben the groomer join or team and the repositioning of Sean Doucet to build director helped us complete more builds and experiment with the new features. Jay and our park and events crews did a great job keeping the park in mint condition and put on some great events.
Our goal for next year is to add a few new key features to round up or arsenal and to get our mini pipe situation figured out. So send in your best pictures and videos to bparsons@bigwhite.com we will get them up on the web for you. So until next December get out and skate, wake, and ride your brains out this summer.
Over and out,
Flynn Seddon
March 22, 2008 - Rail Jam
Kid-Genius Step Child Am Sean Doucet designed a new 3-feature combination for the March 22nd Jam that closed out this season's TELUS Park Rail Jam Series.
40 skiers and snowboarders came out and dialed in the new creation.
Spins, hand plants, stalls, and reverts went down over the spine transfer that connected the features together.

March 17, 2008 - Neil Edgeworth Memorial Banked Slalom
The 11th annual Neil Edgeworth memorial Banked slalom was a gathering of epic proportions. The largest ever field of riders toping out at 190. The Neil Edgeworth banked slalom has defined itself as an epic true spirit gathering for the sport of snowboarding. The gathering represents what snowboarding is all about and that is friends having fun. The course was a challenging one this year and provided a lot of excitement for all of the riders young and old.
The industry sponsors who support the banked slalom showed just how much it means to be apart of the weekend by donating over $25,000 worth of prizing and $5000 dollars worth of cash.
The industry recognition award was initiated last year at the 10th Annual Banked slalom gathering. A beautiful one of a kind hand crafted custom guitar built by Art Abrahams owner of ARTOVOX was presented to this years recipient Cathy Astofooroff.
Cathy has been a long time member of the BC snowboard association, Canadian Snowboard Federation and has put in countless hours to the building of the sport from the Grass root level to the World Cup.
The riders do a run each day and the best run of the weekend defines your overall result.
Take a look at the Neil Edgeworth Memorial Banked Slalom results below.
I hope you all had fun and we look forward to the 12th Annual event next year.
Best Regards,
