Family Channel Family Day Weekend: The Recap
Over the past three days, Big White Ski Resort and Family Channel wowed resort guests with a jam-packed schedule of events for Family Channel Family Day Weekend.
On Saturday morning, Quaker Oats helped kick-off the family day weekend festivities with heart-warming bowls of complimentary oatmeal for families to fuel up before hitting the slopes. Guests were thrilled to find the Quaker Oat Lodge set up at the base of Plaza Chair and Ridge Rocket Express, a structure featuring ski-in/ ski-out access and a build-you-own oatmeal toppings bar. The Quaker Oat Lodge was ready to serve every morning Saturday to Monday from 8:00am-1:00pm.
During the day, Big White hosted a very special Family Channel edition of Cruz the Blues, as well as it’s Spectacular Race and Lip Sync battle, hosted by Family Channel star Deepa Prashad. Both events were a chance for families to spend time together off the slopes.
In the evening, the stars of Family Channel’s ”Backstage” Josh Bogert, McKenzie Small and Aviva took time to meet and greet fans at Big White’s famous Carnival Night. Fans of all ages came out to say ‘Hi’ to their favourite Family Channel stars, grab and autograph, and take home great prizes.
On Sunday, after a huge turn out to the Cruz the Blues closing ceremony, Big White hosted with biggest concert the mountain has ever seen! Set up in the Big White Tube Park, Family Channel singing sensations Josh, McKenzie and Aviva took the stage and put on a live performance that made everyone get up and dance. From Josh’s freestyle DJ set to McKenzie and Aviva’s soulful originals and upbeat covers – it was an incredible live performance!
On Monday, BC Family Day was greeted with bluebird skies and lots of sunshine out on the slopes. To celebrate BC Family Day, Big White offered all BC residents 50% off lift tickets to support local families to take advantage of this provincial holiday and special time off to enjoy together.
