9:30am to 11:30am - 50 Plus
Every Monday morning join other skiers of a similar ability level that are also young at heart. This is a 2 hour group session followed by a gourmet lunch prepared by our Executive Chef. This program is for both men and women over the age of 50 and is taught by our most experienced pros. Make the most of your Monday and join us! Get ready for your stay at Big White by getting to know the Ski and Board School Pros. This free reception, in the Happy Valley Day Lodge is open to everyone and will treat you to light appies, refreshments, live entertainment and information from the people in the know. Get the inside scoop on where to ride and what to do while you are here and don't forget to grab a ticket when you enter for a chance to win some amazing door prizes like free snowmobile tours, group lessons from the Ski Board School, free pizzas from the Underground and much, much more!

This great event lets you get up and be interactive with our Wii systems on the big screen . Downstairs in the Happy Valley Day Lodge, the whole family can either sit back, cheer or participate. Challenge family and friends with the opportunity to win some Big White and Wii great prizes.

Looking to experience the thrill of two world-class resorts without the hassle? Hop aboard the Big White/Silver Star Direct Inter-Mountain Day Trip Shuttle that will take you direct between our resorts every Tuesday and Thursday. Shuttles depart the VCM at Big White at 8:00am and leave Silver Star at 4:00pm, arriving back to Big White at approximately 6:30pm. For more details and to make your reservation, please click here. Skating Party In Happy Valley - Register at the Kids Centre and enjoy a skating party at Happy Valley. Our Kids Centre staff will provide supervision and skate rental for $10.

A free fun event for the whole family! Bingo is for all ages so come down to the Happy Valley Day Lodge for an hour and half of fun and fantastic prizes like free tubing passes for the kids, group lessons from our Ski and Board School and many more. A chance for the whole family to unwind, have a lot of fun and walk away with tons of free stuff so call out your number and we'll see you at Bingo Night every Tuesday!

Wednesdays

10:00am to 12:00pm - Ladies Day
With no men around, this is the day for ladies to improve their skills on the mountain. In the morning, join other ladies of similar ability for a 2 hour group lesson followed by a luncheon, wine tasting, and prizes. If the morning just isn’t enough, we have provided an affordable afternoon add on 2 hour group lesson (1:00pm – 3:00pm) with the same instructor. At this free show you are the star. Even if you don’t want to get up and sing you can still be a part of the audience and have a say in who is going to be the evening’s Big White Idol. With two age categories, kids and adults, and hundreds of songs to choose from, we give you the opportunity to showcase your talent or lack there of on the stage in the Happy Valley Day Lodge. The evening’s Idols will take away some great prizes and all of the contestants will be entered to win draw prizes.

Put those sibling rivalries to rest by racing to see who is the Fastest in the Family! Race each other or just find out how fast you are. Races take place off of the Lower Speculation Run. Big White's Ski & Board School instructors will have race gates and timers ready to clock your mach speeds! Just meet at the top of Lower Speculation, give the instructor your name(s), and you're off! There will be a prize ceremony held in the Village Centre Mall at the conclusion of the ski day. Cost: FREE!

30th Annual World Armwrestling Championship

The 30th World Armwrestling Championship



Arm Wrestling KelownaAs a sponsor, Big White is pleased to welcome over 1,500 visitors and International Competitors to Kelowna for December 3 – 6 at the Grand Hotel to compete for World Titles.

Between 35 – 45 countries will be represented at the 2008 World Arm Wrestling Championships at the Grand Okanagan Hotel. This is the largest International Sporting event ever to be hosted in this city and the largest Arm Wrestling Championship for North America.

Tickets are available for purchase at our Corporate head office at 1894 Ambrosi rd. A portion of the ticket price will be donated to the Kelowna Food Bank.

The tickets are only:
$15.00/day for adults
$10.00/day for children under 12 years of age
$40.00 for a 4-day pass

The Arm Wrestling Federation is also supporting the first “Nicky’s Memorial Christmas Toy Run”.  You are welcome to bring some toys to The Grand Hotel during the event to be donated to the Kelowna Food Bank.

This Gala Event includes the casino opening with complimentary gambling chips to start, appetizers, dinner, martini bar, and prizes. The Grand Prize of Cat-Skiing will be presented during the evening. Big White formal attire is required.

Christmas EveThere's no place better than Big White to have a “White Christmas”. Join us for our traditional Christmas Eve Celebration, get your families photo taken with Santa, attend an indoor Church service at the Village Centre Mall, take part in Christmas caroling, the torchlight parade, fireworks show with hot chestnuts roasting on an open fire and hot chocolate and await Santa's arrival! This is a must attend event and it is all free! Photos take place all day and the festivities kick off with the church service at 4:45 pm.

Christmas at Happy Valley
Come to Happy Valley between 10:00am - 2pm for a traditional buffet Christams lunch at the Kettle Valley Steakhouse with all the trimmings, including traditional North American breakfast and lunch items plus a carved beef station, wild BC salmon, Alaskan crab and more.
No reservation required. Cost is $26.95 for adults, $19.95 for kids 12 and under and free for kids 6 and under.

BCSnowboard Provincial Series: Super Pipe & BCFSA Regional Freestyle Ski Series Doubleheader WeekendThe British Columbia Snowboard association and the British Columbia Freestyle ski association team up to bring you an awesome ski and snowboard weekend. Okanagan Zone GS Races K1,K2, FIS and MastersCome on out and watch our future, present and a little bit of our past as Big White and the Big White Racers host an Okangan Zone Giant Slalom race on Paradise. Annual Dummy DownhillTo celebrate the last weekend of another fantastic season, Big White is hosting its annual Dummy Downhill. Have your team build the ultimate downhill dummy machine, fasten your crash test dummy, set loose and see what happens! Requirements: Dummies must be affixed to two skis or a snowboard, have two arms, two legs, and at least one head! Contact the Activities Desk for more information.
