World Snow Day at Big White!
World Snow Day is the biggest day on snow all year. Simultaneous activities will occur all around the world on January 20th, 2013 to celebrate all things snow.
Here at Big White, there's snow-end of options you'll have to keep the whole family entertained in all things snow related!
Show us your artistic skills in our Snowman Building Competitions, or our Old Man Winter Dress Up Contest, in the Village Center. The awards ceremony will take place at 3:30pm!
Work on your athletic form with our Snowball Softball Superskills Event.
In Happy Valley from 12:00pm - 1:00pm! All participants will be entered into a draw to win a ride with the Winch Cat Crew later that day starting at 4:30pm!
TELUS Park will be hosting a Canada Snowboard Riders event for World Snow Day. CS Riders events are grassroots events, geared towards young riders who would like to start competing. The morning is a fun filled session of practicing tricks and getting comfortable on the Boardercross track with certified coaches. The afternoon is comprised of a contest either on the Boardercross course or in the small/medium lane of TELUS Park. A small registration fee of $10 is required. All the riders will be taking home some sweet swag, in the form of T-shirts, toques and stickers. For more information on this event, click here.
We'll also be hosting a Film and Photo Contest for all shots snow-related, ending with a screening of Sherpa Cinema's "All I Can." The photo slide-show will commence at 6:00pm in the Happy Valley Day Lodge. To submit a film or photo, please e-mail email@example.com with your submission, and have the phrase "World Snow Day Photo Contest" as the subject line. We will be accepting submissions up until 3pm, January 20th. The contest categories are: Best Snow Action Shot, Best Scenic Shot, Most Original Use of Snow Shot, and Best of Big White Powder Shot.
