Annual Dummy Downhill
April 15th - 12:00pm
It's the last day of a great season and we want to celebrate with you! Watch the home made contraptions speed down the Mega Snowcoaster Tube Park in Happy Valley or get involved and build your own!
To celebrate the last weekend of another fantastic season, Big White is hosting our annual Dummy Downhill. Have your team build the ultimate downhill dummy machine, fasten your crash test dummy, set loose and see what happens!
Rules and Regulations:
Minimum Height - 2ft
Maximum Height - 6ft
Maximum Weight - 150lbs
Construction must be stable & projectile proof to avoid launching dummy parts into spectators. Please note that sharp instruments & explosives are prohibited.

Big Reds at Big White
December 10th - 6:00pm-9:00pm
Big White is pleased to announce their 4th Annual Premier wine tasting event, Big Reds at Big White. Over 30 wine makers team up with the finest chefs at Big White to prepare a night of sensory delights. Try newly released local wines from the Okanagan region, chat with the makers and enjoy appetizers prepared by our on-mountain restaurants. Big Reds takes place in the Village Centre Mall, December 10th, 2011 and tickets are $50/person (including tax).
This is a weekend of wine, so don't miss out on our other events!
December 9th - The Winemakers Barrel Sampling Challenge
Get to know the personality behind the label. Join some of the premiere local winemakers in a private tasting event that will showcase the best of their wines and discover the transformation from barrel to bottle. This is an informal night with the opportunity for all guests to get to know the winemakers on a more personal note. The Kettle Valley Steakhouse is proud to offer food from live action stations in the dining room that will compliment the bold, exuberant and rich wines on offer this evening. Special guests will include Graham Pierce of Black Hills Estate Winery, Rob Van Westen of Van Westen Vineyards, Ross Hackworth of Nichol Vineyards and Jeff Harder of Ex Nihilo. This is an intimate evening not to be missed. Tickets are $59.95 per person inclusive of all taxes and gratuities.
December 11th - Gray Monk Odyssey Brunch
Gray Monk will be celebrating 30 years of producing exceptional VQA wines this year. The Kettle Valley Steakhouse is partnering with this renown winery for a delicious Sunday brunch that will include a glass of the award winning Odyssey Brut sparkling wine. Rainer Wilkes, Gray Monk Sommelier and wine educator, will be on hand to pour a range of Gray Monk wines to taste alongside brunch favorites from Big White Executive Chef, Bryce Broadhurst. Prices are $29.95 per adult, kids under 12 eat free.

7th Annual Okanagan Spring Film & Photo Contest
March 30th - 8:00pm
This is one of our most popular events of the season! Come and check out everyone's great footage from the 2011/2012 season! This is a free event held in the Happy Valley Day Lodge at 8:00pm, but come early because it will get busy!
Entries may be submitted from March 1st to March 25th, 2012. No Late entries will be accepted!
Conditions of entry:
• ONE ENTRY PER CATEGORY
• All photos must be taken during 11/12 season at BIG WHITE SKI RESORT
• All film material must be owned by contestant and shot in the 11/12 season
• Contestants must select which category they wish to enter
• Films may be no longer than 5 minutes

Big Whites at Big White
March 31st - 6:00pm-9:00pm
Big White Ski Resort is following up the hugely successful event 'Big Reds' with its second annual "Big Whites at Big White". This event will showcase the best white wines that the Okanagan Valley is producing and give our guests an opportunity to taste the variety, quality and individuality coming from this area.
Big White's Kettle Valley Steakhouse, Swiss Bear, 6 Degrees Bistro, Carver's Restaurant, The BullWheel, Globe Café & Tapas Bar and Santé Bar & Grill will be on hand to prepare locally inspired appetizers to enjoy.
"In addition to being well known for our incredible snow conditions, the Okanagan is perhaps most celebrated for its outstanding wines," says Trevor Hanna, Food and Beverage Director at Big White. "The Big Whites at Big White event is a great way for skiers and wine lovers alike to enjoy the finest the Okanagan has to offer."
The event will take place on March 31st from 6-9pm in the Village Centre Mall. Tickets are $50 per person and available by contacting the Activities Desk at 250.491.6111.
