60 Foot Ice Climbing Tower
Check out Big White’s newest activity- our 60ft Ice Tower! The structure is built with 4 telephone poles cross braced together then flooded with water which freezes into 3 ft of thick blue ice. There is a beginner side and three other sides for more advanced climbers or anyone who is looking for a challenge with a choice of 19 different routes to get to the top. This is an activity for all fitness levels and can satisfy anyone with an appetite for adventure!
The Ice Tower is located in the Happy Valley Adventure Park, where you can test your skills on the ice or watch others as they attempt to reach the top. So far we've had as young as 7yrs all the way to 75yrs complete a climb! Your climb will be hosted by Jim, an AMGA (American Mountain Guides Association) Certified Guide. Please arrive 10 minutes before your climb. We recommend you wear layers and boots, crampons & ice tools are supplied so everyone can give it a try!

Saturday & Sunday: 9:00am to 12:00pm.
*The ice tower will also be open Tuesday December 18th, 25th & January 1st.

Biography
As a professional climber, Jim has been fortunate to have climbed many of the world’s famous mountains. He has done training courses through the ACMG, AMGA, and the independent guides association and holds current certification with the AMGA as a “certified rock guide”. What sets Jim apart from other guides is his many years of experience in every mountain range on earth and his FUN approach to life and climbing. Even after 41 years of climbing he has the contagious enthusiasm of a kid.
Jim has been building and operating Ice Climbing Towers in Canada for nearly a decade. The Big White Ice Tower is his latest.
