New snow, lift openings & TELUS Park

With plenty of fresh snow in the last few days and a 120cm alpine base, Big White Ski Resort is launching right into the 2014/2015 ski season.

The Cliff Chair and the Powder Chair begin running today, allowing access to a number of new runs across the mountain. This brings us to a total number of 13 lifts and 79 runs open.

TELUS Park and the TELUS Park Chair also open today, containing a number of new features that our park crew have been working on for weeks. With features ranging in size from small to XL, there will be something for everyone to try in the park this season.

Night skiing also kicked off last night, with the Bullet Chair and Plaza Chair both remaining open until 8pm every day throughout the holiday season. After January 3, night skiing will continue to run from Tuesdays through to Saturdays. The night lift capacity of over 5000 people per hour means that riders won’t have to spend their time waiting in lift lines, instead enjoying the 2569 meters of terrain open during night skiing hours.

When guests of the resort aren’t busy chasing fresh powder on the slopes, they can enjoy Big White’s jam-packed holiday schedule. Santa will be in the Village Center Mall from 1pm until 4pm every day until Christmas Eve, taking free Santa photos with kids; families can also witness the “Dress Like Santa” day on December 21, have breakfast with Santa on December 23 or take part in our family torchlight parade on December 24.

There’s also adventure to be found in our Happy Valley Adventure Park; the Mega Snow Coaster Tube Park will be open until 9pm every night, and Canada’s highest outdoor ice-skating rink will remain open until 10pm. Alternatively, join in on a horse-drawn sleigh ride under the stars, complete with hot chocolate.

Big White Ski Resort is only a short 45-minute drive from Kelowna International Airport and offers an array of accommodation choices for over 17,000 slopeside guests. "It's the Snow" is our motto, with over 750cm of light, dry, fluffy powder falling annually.
