Big Whites at Big White
Big Whites first White wine festival went off without a hitch Saturday night at Big White Ski Resort. The beginning of Spring was celebrated with the release of many white wines and with hundreds of wineries in our backyard, we were fortunate to have over 25 wineries join us at Big White for this inaugural event. The village Centre mall played host to the event with on-mountain restaurants including Carver’s, Santé Bar & Grill, 6 Degrees Bistro, and the Kettle Valley Steakhouse preparing fresh appetizers for guests to sample while sipping the fabulous local wines. Okanagan Spring was also on-hand to share their beer and mix things up. Over 120 guests mingled, sipped and snacked during the relaxing evening after a great day of skiing and riding on over 300cm of snow.
Trevor Hanna, Direct of Food & Beverage commented, “Big Whites at Big White offered the perfect backdrop to entertain our mountain guests while giving the Okanagan wineries another opportunity to show the world how special this area really is. We will definitely be building on the success of last night to create a showcase event every spring.”
Allison Markin, from All She wrote Consulting said, “What a fabulous event, I have been tweeting all evening, I think I have made a few people attending the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival jealous!”
Big Whites is the follow up to Big Reds, which is Big Whites red wine festival in December. The success of Big Whites means this event will continue for years to follow. For information on all of Big White’s events, check out the events page of the website.
